Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we are asked most often.
What is Passform?
Passform is a web service that converts a CV in any format into a Europass ready to send, as DOCX and PDF. It can also remove personal data and lay the document out with an agency's brand. It is built by Hyperion S.r.l., an IT consultancy based in Milan, Italy.
Which files can I upload?
PDF, Word (DOCX), ODT, RTF and plain text; the size limit is shown next to the upload. Scanned PDFs are read too, with optical character recognition: in that case it is worth checking names and dates.
What is the Europass format?
It is the CV template promoted by the European Union, with standard sections for personal details, experience, education, skills and languages. Consultancies and clients often ask for it because it lets them compare different profiles in the same layout.
How does it anonymise a CV?
You choose the level: full (initials or a code, no contact details), contact only (the name stays), blind (employers are hidden too) or none. Data is removed with fixed rules, the same every time, and is not left to the AI model.
Does Passform invent or change information in the CV?
No. The AI model reorganises the content into the Europass sections; if you paste a job ad, it reorders the profile and skills but adds no facts. The result should still be read before it is sent.
Where is data processed, and for how long?
The application and data are hosted on Microsoft Azure in the European Union. The uploaded file is deleted right after conversion; generated documents are kept for 180 days on a paid plan, 30 days on the free plan. The CV text is sent to Anthropic, in the United States, only to structure it, and is not used to train models.
Is Passform GDPR compliant?
The service is designed for the GDPR: data hosted in the EU, limited retention, and self-service export and deletion of your own data from the Account page. For agencies, which remain the controllers of their candidates' data, there is a data processing agreement under art. 28.
How much does it cost?
The free plan includes 3 CVs a month. Pro costs €29 a month with 50 CVs and access to the positions network; Team costs €99 a month with 500 CVs and 3 users working in the same archive. For candidates the Europass is free; position suggestions cost €9.90 once, for 90 days. Prices include VAT; payments and VAT are handled by Stripe.
Do I need an account?
No, you can convert a CV without an account to try it. A free account gives 3 CVs a month, an archive of conversions and, for agencies, anonymisation and the agency's name on the document. Letterhead, tailoring to a job ad, the job board and the AI assessment of matches come with the Pro plan.
Can I use my agency's letterhead?
Yes, on the Pro plan. An Operator account can upload a Word template with header and footer, or the sheet as PDF, PNG or JPG. It is saved on the profile and applied to later conversions.
Which language is the document in?
Italian or English, as you choose. By default the document comes out in the language you are using the site in.
What does a candidate get?
Their own CV in Europass, free, with the last 5 versions kept. After converting, they see how many open positions match their skills and in which areas, before deciding whether to activate suggestions.
